Arraigo Social is a residence permit granted under exceptional circumstances when certain requirements are met. These requirements include:

Continuous residence in Spain for a minimum period of 3 years.

No criminal record in Spain, the applicant’s home country, or any country where they have resided in the last five years.

A signed employment contract guaranteeing at least the minimum interprofessional wage or the applicable collective agreement salary. The contract must ensure a minimum of 30 hours per week overall or at least 20 hours in cases where the applicant has dependents, such as minors or individuals requiring support for the exercise of their legal capacity.
In specific scenarios, multiple contracts can be submitted:

In the agricultural sector, two or more contracts with different employers can be presented if they are sequential.

For roles involving partial or simultaneous employment with multiple employers, multiple contracts are acceptable.

Family ties with other foreign residents or a social integration report issued by the relevant Autonomous Community. Family ties refer exclusively to spouses or registered domestic partners, as well as direct first-degree ascendants and descendants.
If all requirements are met, the applicant must prepare specific documentation, which includes:

Copy of a valid passport or travel document, valid for at least four months, including all pages (even blank ones).

Signed employment contract meeting the stipulated conditions, including a clause indicating that the contract is contingent on the issuance of the residence authorization.

Upon gathering the required documentation, the process begins with submitting the application. The fee of €38.28 (updated for 2024) must be paid within 10 working days after the application is officially recorded.
Family Roots (Arraigo Familiar)
Arraigo Familiar is a residence permit for exceptional circumstances, applicable when the applicant meets one of the following:

Being the parent of a minor with Spanish nationality, provided the parent lives with the child or fulfills parental obligations.

Being the child of a parent originally of Spanish nationality.
Required documentation includes:

Copy of a valid passport or travel document.

Criminal record certificate from countries of residence over the last five years, legalized and translated if needed.

Proof of family ties and nationality, such as birth certificates of the applicant and the Spanish minor or the parent originally of Spanish nationality.

Employment Roots (Arraigo Laboral)
Arraigo Laboral is a residence permit granted under exceptional circumstances when the applicant meets the following:

Not being an EU/EEA/Swiss citizen or related to one under EU law.

No criminal record in Spain or prior countries of residence.

No entry ban to Spain or inadmissibility in countries with agreements with Spain.

Continuous residence in Spain for a minimum of 2 years, with absences not exceeding 90 days in the last 2 years.

Proof of labor relations lasting at least six months.
Required documentation includes:

Criminal record certificate, legalized and translated where applicable.
